The Problem
"Water loss is a global issue, with approximately 346 billion litres of water lost from worldwide supply networks every single day. If these water losses were reduced by only 30%, 800 million people could be supplied with already treated water"

As the population continues to rise annually, this creates a strain on the world water supply. By the year 2050, scientists predict that there will be about 9.6 billion people on Earth. With this in mind, the larger population means that more water will be needed for drinking, agriculture, businesses, etc. When more water is used, the resource becomes more limited. This may also result in water becoming more expensive. While this is a necessary resource that should be free, limited supply means a greater cost. While humans can go longer without food, the human body can only live about 5-7 days without water. Overall, this strain on water will end up creating a strain on the human population as well.
